Zwest is one of the telecom majors in US and sole local service provider in 14 states of United States. IMA system enables Co-providers like AT&T, MCI, Sprint, Ameritech etc. to access the Zwest Network for purchasing certain services on a wholesale basis and resell these services to their customers. IMA supports EDI and Java GUI.

Multi-mailbox is an EDI transaction tracking database which stores EDI inbound and outbound transactions. As Zwest implements multiple machines to accommodate production EDI transactions, multiple instances of EDIOPEN/GXS translator must also be implemented.

The purpose of this application is to determine which system received and processed a specific transaction, find the status for that specific transaction, ensure that the CLEC s functional acknowledgements inbound 997 for Zwest s outbound transactions will not return to the issuing translator making reconciliation more difficult.

Responsibilities involved:
  • Analysis and design of the the complete system for Multi-mailbox
  • Logical and Physical data modeling using Designer 2000 and Erwin
  • Extensively used Oracle Web Server and PL/SQL for development of the system
  • Created several SQL Plus reports and queries for IMA EDI users

This project is installation, configuration and maintainence of EDI/GXS translator error monitoring processes. Once installed and configured these processes activity monitor data during EDI translation and 1. Capture EDI errors 2. Process and Report errors 3. Nightly maintenance routines and utilities 4. On going administration of the process. Errors are reported via a HP-Open View interface file. If HP-Open View is not used the Optional Email/Text page Alert processes may be configured to email or page predefined individuals when errors occur.
