Not even a year ago I could not dream of such a job. I did not have any skills in fields related to computer technology before I started class. In Ukraine I worked as an economist at a Scientific and Design Institute.
The main plus is the ideal training program in accordance with the labor market. First, we study basic and theoretical knowledge, then – difficulties, practical exercises and real projects. In the first few months, we’ve already learned manual testing. Then we studied mobile testing and used our knowledge on a real project. At the end we had an internship with a practicing QA manager. I really liked studying at Portnov school. Program is intense, but you get all support from teachers. They do care about each student to succeed.

I came to school in the hardest time, when Covid hit and market went down. Despite pandemic, school never left me behind and I got internship with their help. I am very happy my career in QA officially stated.

Best opportunity EVER! “Intro to Python Programming” course with Marina Lietman can help you land your first automations job. Before I took the course, I didn’t know much about automation, nor was I ever exposed to Python. However, that was not an issue, as the program is designed for the beginners, and provides you with all the basic knowledge you need to start a career in automation. Upon completion of the course, I went through the interview process with Marina (and yes, anyone who would like a shot at a job WILL get an interview!) And as a result, got a job that love and enjoy. When you want to learn and excel you should do it from the BEST and the best is PORTNOV .Living a few blocks away from the school I would everyday take a walk down the street near Portnov not aware of what it was all about, when one day my son ran towards the school and me after him, thats when I happen to just casually ask a student what they were learning there and I was told a lot of interesting things. And finally when I decided to restart my career I knew where I had to go .. Portnov it was ! In 2019 I joined the evening classes nd within no time of completion of my course I had an internship offer in hand with one of the best company in the Bay Area. And ever since than theres no looking back , Im glad I took that leap of faith and decided to change my career . Something totally different than what I doing in my previous jobs. Portnov helped me change my career and most importantly made me realize what I was meant to be doing .
The teachers here are fantastic .I have to mention teacher Janna , she is one of the best teachers I have come across so far. Very patient and approachable. Her way of teaching is fantastic!

After being a stay at home mom for a decade, I decided to return to work and explored a new career. My friend recommended me to Portnov Computer School after her success in her new career in SQA. I took the courage to go for it despite my old age and commitment to my family. After all the perseverance and encouragement, I did it.
I honestly had a great time learning at Portnov. The teachers (Janna, Olga, Tanya, Galina and Sofia) are all wonderful and full of passion. They not only gave us extra classes to complete the course but also gave me one-on-one attention from their personal time. They not only taught me the technical skills that are needed to be a SQA Engineer, they also taught me how to ace the interview.
I also wanted to thank Sofia Pravdina who helped me with job placement. Right after the SQA course, I was given multiple internships/projects where I could work in a company to gain real working experience.

Looking back now, the decision to change a career and the fact that I chose Portnov Computer School for that is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.
Deciding to change a career and start a path in a completely new industry was one of the hardest decisions that I made and to say that I was not skeptical at first would be a lie. Like anyone who has been working in a different profession and jumping into a new path, I had so many doubts, so many questions, would I understand it? Would I ever be successful? Would I get a job? … a lot of questions.
Looking back now, the decision to change a career and the fact that I chose Portnov Computer School for that is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. This school has changed my family’s life to the better. My sister studied here 5 years ago, and she is currently a senior QA engineer in a big company in the Bay area.
