The Teachers are highly professional

I enrolled in the course in June 2022 and immediately wished I’ve done it sooner. You spend 4-6 months in school learning about QA extensively and then you change your life forever. I never thought I’d end up in IT without specific college education, but Portnov Computer School made this dream possible.
The teachers are extremely knowledgable and work closely with their students. The material presented is up to date and covers the basics of different QA avenues. The internship offered at the end of the course is an extensive program that covers all your gaps from the previous classes.
Me and my husband both attended Portnov Computer School and as of today, we are both employed as QA Engineers.

I had previous experience in the IT field, some programming skills, graduated coding bootcamp, but wasn’t hired directly as QA. Although I had good combination of in-demand skills it was the projects of the Portonov Computer School that became the final touch in getting the desired position. The structured presentation of the material without haste and leaders who gave right altitudes and directions – this what I was looking for as an advanced student. Also I met a person couple years ago who moved to my state for a new role QA Engineer – this made me sure in my choice.

Everything I have, I owe to Portnov Computer School. I am a second generation Portnov Computer School Alumn.

My father became certified here a long time ago when we came to the United States from Russia, and has been working in the field for more than a decade. I too have followed in his footsteps. I started my journey in June of 2022 and have completed a very comprehensive course, as well as an internship with the school. The covers all the bases, which included understanding test methodologies, creating test cases, using web technologies for testing, API, command line, database verification, introduction to automated test scripts, mobile app testing and most importantly: the course offers a look into a real software development environment, with necessary resources to make you job market-ready. I have completed the course and have started working at a company in the medical/biotech field called Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions and have been there since February of 2023. I believe that PCS offers the most insight to become a certified Software QA and your success story may just start here too, same as it did for my father and same as it did for me!

For several years, I’ve been contemplating a career switch and whether I should take the QA course at Portnov School, and now I’m glad that I did. During the course, I’ve gained practical, hands-on experience in various testing methodologies such as manual and automated testing that I can apply in real-world scenarios. The program is both rigorous and very comprehensive which made it challenging for me at times, but the rewards are definitely worth it!
The school staff and the instructors are very knowledgeable, patient and dedicated to ensure that their students receive the best possible education. That being said, I’m particularly grateful to Janna Spector and Olga Chekhanovskaya for their experience based insights, support and encouragement during the times of doubt – it made a huge difference. They are truly great instructors! I would like to express my appreciation to Julia for her prompt responses and assistance whenever I had questions. Also, a big thanks to Sofia Pravdina for helping me to find the internship.
Overall, I had a very positive experience with the QA course and I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for me in my new career path.

The School gave me precisely what I was looking for – the necessary knowledge and experience.  I landed an internship within the first week of graduation, and this is only the beginning!
The Course covered so many subjects – from Manual to Automation and was the best overall study material I could find online – I tried Udemy and LinkedIn before and was just confused and overwhelmed. The School provided a comprehensive structure and real teachers who currently work in the field and went through what I am going through – having a live tutor so that I can ask questions and hear their first-hand experience is simply priceless. The best part is that they also teach you how to pass the interview itself – there are so many parts to getting a job in the field that you are exploring, and a lot of times we don’t concentrate on that part – the School knew that we would need guidance and was happy to provide it to us.

I have known about this school for many years, I’ve heard only good things about it and knew several people who went through it personally. I recently completed the QA course at Portnov Computer School and I have to say it was an excellent experience. Before I started the program, I didn’t have any knowledge about software testing and IT in general.
However, the program was so well structured, the curriculum was well designed and comprehensive, and all the instructors were very knowledgeable and experienced.

Crucial Decision to Change Career.

Now, when taking a look over my shoulder at February 2022, I realize how crucial the decision to join Portnov Computer School was for the change of my career. Enormous support from the school and its teachers as well as lots of studying and interaction with group mates do not leave a single PCS student behind in the learning process. Throughout the whole course, I always knew that whatever technical or course-related questions I had, I could always get clear and professional responses from the school and our teachers, who are real professionals with many years of experience in QA and IT. I’d like to extend special thanks to Janna, Olga, Mike, Artem, Luiza, Sofia, Yan, and Galina for their patience, professionalism, and support I was receiving during and after the completion of the course. So, now a year has passed by, and I work as a QA engineer, am advancing my test automation skills at PCS’ boot camp, and continue to progress with learning Java, fundamentals of which I learned in our technical classes at PCS. I would like to thank you sincerely for your help and big supportive assistance in my educational journey! I started studying at Portnov Computer School on 06/24/2022. Today, 01/17/2023, I got a job offer! For such a short period of time, my instructors were able to give me all the tools and information I needed in order to succeed. I want to thank Janna, for the wonderful lectures, and for her heartfelt educational approach. She explained thoroughly and understandably! I want to thank Artem, for being professional and patient, which meant a lot to me. He explained difficult techniques in simple-minded ways. I want to thank Galina R, for her help and kindness.
